Notion is a digital workspace that can be used as a knowledge base and a project management tool. I want to use it for mental health.

That’s what I am trying to figure out now. After using Notion for some of my own notes, I’ve realised its potential for managing mental health. This Reddit post was all I needed to get me started on creating Notion for Mental Health:

Notion for Mental Health

Notion for Mental Health (temporary name, maybe?) will be a place for people to record information such as medical appointments, doctor information, and medications. Here is what I have in mind.

Medical Information

Here, you can record your doctors’ information in a simple table that allows you to input your doctors’ names, phone numbers, and addresses. Medical appointments can also be tracked on a calendar. Under the Medication List, you get to record down individual medications, the dosage you were/are on, and their effects (both positive and negative) so that you know what works for you and what does not.

Journals

For now, there will be two journals – a mood tracker that gives you space to track your mood throughout the day at different intervals so that you can see how your mood fluctuates and how different happenings affect you, and; a daily journal for you to record down what’s important for you to remember or for reflections at the end of the day.

Exercises

There will be short and simple exercises put together, such as the one on Negative Automatic Thoughts. There will also be a tab for coping techniques – I don’t know if I want to make this a separate section of its own, where some suggestions for healthy coping will be provided. You can also record down what techniques and skills you have learned.

Fully Customisable

One thing that is great about Notion is that you will be able to make a copy of Notion for Mental Health. You can then make as many edits as you like to make it truly yours. You can remove what is unnecessary and make additions as you like. Perhaps the medication list isn’t relevant to you – so delete it!

Help Wanted!

This is just an idea I have which may or may not materialise as something functional. I may even change platforms or rework everything. For now, however, this is what I have, and I would like to encourage everyone to help out with this project. You don’t have to be of any particular nationality and you don’t have to be a mental health professional. You don’t need to be proficient with Notion (because I sure as hell am not). I just need your ideas and feedback.

  1. It doesn’t let me access your notion on the reddit or on this page! I think you need to make your template public for others to view and copy it!

When I click your link, it says: “You do not have access to Claire. Please contact an admin to add you as a member.”
